Food tracker: search, scan and log in seconds

Search, scan or pick from recents. Calories and macros for any serving.

What it does

Find a food by name or scan its barcode with your phone's camera (or type the number). Pick a serving in servings, grams or ounces and the calories and macros update as you type. Foods you log often show up in Recents, and you can save meals, copy yesterday or quick-add calories.

Where the food data comes from

  • Our own list of 126 common foods
  • Open Food Facts, a community database of packaged products
  • USDA FoodData Central
  • Foods and recipes you add yourself

Community data can be wrong. Entries whose numbers fail the app’s checks are marked “unverified numbers”, and you can report a problem from the food screen.

Food detail for an oatmeal product showing calories, macros, a Kosher label and the line Certifier named in community data: OU, not verified by this app
A real food entry: macros, and the certifier with its source.

Example

We searched for oatmeal, chose a product listed at 357 kcal per 100 g, and changed the serving to 40 g. The app showed 143 kcal, 5.7 g protein, 25.7 g carbs and 2.8 g fat, which is exactly 40% of the label values.

Typing barcode 016000275287 found Cheerios with its nutrition, and the certifier named in the product data.

Kosher filter

Turn on Kosher only to hide branded products that have no hechsher named in their data. General foods (from our list, or your own) stay visible. The app shows which certifier the data names and where that came from, and never says a product is verified kosher. How kosher support works.

Limits to know

  • A logged food amount can't be edited yet: remove it and add it again.
  • No photo or AI food logging.
  • Barcode lookups only find products that are in the databases above.
  • The camera scanner needs camera permission; typing the number always works.
